PURPOSE:To reduce the laser output to desired value without using a filter or the like by irradiating other laser light externally to a mirror multilayer film while detecting the oscillation output and regulating the laser output to predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:An internal mirror type He-Ne laser tube consisting of a cathode 1, an anode 2, a laser fine tube 3, a vacuum enclosure 4, multiple layers 7, 8 on mirror substrates 5, 6 is connected to a laser power supply 10, and discharged to produce laser light 11. The output of the laser tube is then detected by a power meter 12. Wile observing the power meter 12, laser light 20 of a YAG laser or the like having wavelength which almost passes the mirror substrate glass externally from the mirror at opposite side to the laser output and almost stop the laser light to the multilayer film is irradiated to deteriorate the multilayer film to reduce the output. |
