PURPOSE:To obtain the stable magnetic head for floating characteristics, by removing the unnecessary part other than the gap for recording and reproduction at the track with indirect processing means, in the floating type magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:In the floating type magnetic head in which the track section 1 having the gap for recording and reproduction is positioned at the intermediate part of the two slider surfaces 2A and 2B producing floating force, the unnecessary part 9 other than the part incorporating the core 3 including the gap 6 of the track section 1 is removed with the processing energy radiated from the indirect processing machine 10 as indirect processing means, and the cut-off angle theta at the back side 11 is taken as 90 deg. or a near value. As the indirect processing machine 10, ultrasonic wave processing machine and laser processing machine are suited. Thus, the production of unnecessary floating force is excluded and the floating characteristics as the magnetic head can be stabilized. |
