<p>: A thermally responsive clutch (10) for connecting a driving shaft (12) to a driven pulley (14) including cylindrical clutch surfaces (32,46) on the shaft (12) and the pulley (14) with a wrapping coil spring (20) in engagement with both surfaces. An engaging pawl(26) is mounted adjacent said spring clutch element (20) and a pair of thermally responsive bimetallic washers (22,24) in contact with said pawl (26) act to cause said pawl to cause said spring to connect said shaft and pulley only within a predetermined temperature range.</p> |
