A powder is dosed into a liq. in a tank (1) contg. driven rollers. An upper pair of rollers (2,3) is partly immersed in the liq., and are rotated to create a depression or suction zone (6A) below the outlet of a dosing hopper (8) contg. the powder. The rotation of rollers (2,3) also covers the latter with films of the liq. travelling into zone (DZ). The rollers also form a dispersion zone (7B) in which the powder is distributed throughout the liq. The intensity of the depression and dispersion zones (6A,7B) is controlled by varying the linear speed of the layers of liq. on the two rollers (2,3). In one pref. tank (1), two more rollers (16,17) are located in the liq. below rollers (2,3), and are rotated to create more depression and dispersion zones.
