PURPOSE:To enhance the adhesion and weather, corrosion and discoloration resistances of a display plate for a watch by forming a specified metal or an alloy thin film layer between a silver coat and an oxide or fluoride layer on a metal plate by dry treatment. CONSTITUTION:An about 0.5-10mu silver coat, a 5-100Angstrom thin layer of Cr, Mo, W, Co or an alloy thereof and an about 1-5mu thick layer of oxide and/or fluoride are formed on a metal plate in order by a dry treating method such as vapor deposition, sputtering or ion plating. SiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3 or the like is used as the oxide, and MgF2 or the like as the fluoride. |
