PURPOSE:A cosmetic that contains an oil obtained from tomatos as an effective component, thus being observed to cause no skin irritation, spreading well on skins and giving good feeling when applied. CONSTITUTION:Residues, which are obtained as by-products, when processed food products from tomatos such as tomato juice, tomato puree or tomato ketchap, are produced, and seeds of tomatos collected therefrom are extracted with a solvent such as ether, hexane, benzene, toluene or xylene to collect tomato oil. The objective cosmetic includes the tomato oil as an effective component. Tomato oil includes large amounts of linoleic acid that has effects of giving moisture to skins and preventing the evaporation of moisture as well as vitamin E that gives nourishments to skins, thus having desirable properties as a cosmetic component. Further, it is veryl stable against oxidation in spite of its high contents of linoleic acid. |
