The anode of the rotating-anode X-ray tube has a power-supply contact in the rotating shaft. In the case of known embodiments, said power-supply contact consists of a touching contact between moving and stationary parts, so that friction and hence wear occur. In order to prevent the contact becoming worn out, a liquid-metal contact (14) is provided which has a pot containing liquid metal (16) into which a pin (17) dips as the mating contact, which pin (17) is constructed as an attachment on the rotating shaft (8) of the anode (7). Such a rotating-anode X-ray tube which is provided with a liquid-metal contact is particularly suitable for use in X-ray diagnosis apparatuses which can be highly loaded. <IMAGE>
