PURPOSE:To obtain having a great number of open pores and capable of instantaneously melting in a high-speed flame and also of forming a high quality flame- coated layer by baking and crushing a metal compound convertible into oxide by thermal decomposition at a temperature above its thermal decomposition temperature but below a specific temperature at which its activity is not lost. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum hydroxide is mixed under wet condition, molded, baked, and then crushed into fine powder. The powder thus obtained is quantitatively supplied into propane-oxygen flame for flame coating. In this way, with the powder baked at a temperature at which its activity is not lost, a molding which has a large number of open pores, a high activity, a high heat flow propagativity, and instantaneous meltability in flame, as well as high denseness, high strength, high corrosion resistance, and high spalling resistance can be obtained. |
