PURPOSE:To produce a lake pigment which can easily be pulverized and has excellent coloring power, by a method wherein a clay mineral is dispersed in an aq. soln. of a metallic compd., the same metal as that of the metallic compd. is dissolve in the resulting mixt. to effect the reaction between the reactants, and then an aq. soln. of an org. coloring matter is added to the reaction product to effect the reaction between the reactants. CONSTITUTION:A clay mineral (e.g. kaolinite or terra abla) having an average particle diameter of 0.01-50mu is pretreated with an acid or an alkali, and then is dispersed in an aq. soln. of a metallic compd. [e.g. Al(OH) or CaCl2]. A powder of the same metal as that of said metallic compd. is added to the dispersion. The mixt. is subjected to a reaction at 80-95 deg.C for 2-4hr to dissolve the metal powder. Then the reaction mixt. is aged at 80-95 deg.C to obtain a clay mineral-containing polymerized basic metallic compd. base. An aq. soln. of a coloring matter (e.g. Red zol or carthamin) is added to the base. The mixt. is subjected to a reaction at 15- 50 deg.C for 10min-20hr. Then the reaction mixt. is aged at a temp. not lower than ordinary temperature for 0.5-20 days, and filtered. The product is dried to obtain the desired lake pigment. |
