<p>PURPOSE:To store oak leaves which can be directly used for covering a rice cake wrapped in an oak leaf without requiring a reclaiming operation at a candy store, having so called high value added for a long time stably, by sealing up the leaves with a disoxidant. CONSTITUTION:Oak leaves which are harvested in May to June are subjected to blanching treatment and dried. The dried leaves are steamed so that they reproduce original color, soaked in salt water, water is removed. The leaves and a disoxidant in common use are sealed up in a substantially nonpermeable packing material or a hermetic container, e.g., a packing material consisting of a transparent film having an oxygen permeability not more than 50ml/m<2>.atm.d, and they are stored at 2-30 deg.C, preferably at 5-25 deg.C. The disoxidant is sealed up in a permeable packing material so that it is not brought into contact with the oak leaves, and a solid detecting agent for oxygen is sealed up together with the oak leaves and the disoxidant or the detecting agent for oxygen is printed on the surface of the packing material of the disoxidant or the inner side of the nonpermeable packing material.</p> |
