An arrangement related to load-carrying members for compressing smaller trees or parts thereof which are retained between two posts 2, 3 forming parts of each load-carrying member, comprises a cross top 8 connecting the upper ends of the posts, said cross top being actuatable for movement towards trees or parts thereof situated below the cross top for compressing these. The cross top is swingably journalled on the top end of one of the posts 2, and may be swung from the horizontal compressing position in which the cross top is locked to the posts, through 270 degrees to a position on the outside of one of the posts, following swinging of a locking arm 12, locking the top end of the other post 3 and the cross top together, from a locking position by means of a piston-cylinder device 14. The downwards directed compressing movement of the cross top is provided by piston-cylinder combinations 15, 16 which telescope vertically movable upper post parts 5, 7 into fixed lower post parts 4, 6, whereby hoses 30, 31 coupled to the rotative cylinder and the piston-cylinder device 14 are at the same time guided into the beam 1 interconnecting the posts. <IMAGE> |
