PURPOSE:To inform an operator of the state of an receiver clearly by informing the operator that a search is in progress by using a motion picture display during the autosearch and by informing the operator of reception by the motion picture display by stopping transition in frequency value once a broadcast is acquired. CONSTITUTION:With an autosearch key on a keyboard unit KB, a digital controller CNT sends frequency data of a specified band to a phase locked loop PLL circuit to perform tuning. A tuner part is equipped with a squelch circuit SQ which detects a carrier and once a broadcase is received, a specific signal is generated and sent to a digital control part. The broadcast is acquired by an autosearch and when a squelch signal is outputted, the digital control part is held in readiness for reception with the autosearch stopped. The arrow of an autosearch indicator shifts to left by one step while the frequency data goes up by one channel and, when the squelch signal is outputted, continues to shift to left until the arrow hits a target. |
