<p>A damping arrangement, especially for a washing machine of the type having a drum unit comprising a perforated drum rotatable about a generally horizontal axis within an outer container, comprises a first member (3) secured to a first body, e.g. the drum unit (1), a second member (5) in frictional engagement with the first member and secured to another body, e.g. the washing machine cabinet (0), a third member (6) frictionally supported by the first member, and stop means (11, 12) limiting the degree of travel of the third member relative to the other body. Such an arrangement provides two-stage damping suitable for damping both small and larger oscillations.</p> |
