1-R1 2-R2 3-R3 4-R4 5-R5 imidazolium R-substd. phosphites of formula (I) are new. (R1 is 1-18C alkyl (opt. chloro substd. or interrupted by O or S atoms), 2-18C alkenyl, benzyl (opt. ring substd. by 1-5C halo, nitro, cyano, opt. halo substd. 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C alkylthio). R2 is H, 1-18C alkyl, 2-18C alkenyl, phenyl or benzyl (both opt. ring substd. by 1-5 halo, nitro, cyano, opt. halo-substd. 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C alkylthio); R3 is 1-18C alkyl or benzyl (opt. ring substd. by 1-5 halo, nitro, cyano, opt. halo substd. 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or 1-4C alkylthio); R4, R5 independently are H, 1-6C alkyl, 6-10C aryl or 7-10C aralkyl or together with =C=C= form an imidazole or benzene ring; R is H, 1-8C alkyl (opt. interrupted by O or S), 2-3C alkenyl, 2-3C alkynyl, phenyl, benzyl or tetrahydrofuryl). Used as fungicides for control of plant diseases which have excellent activity and a different activity spectrum to that of known cpds. (I) are active agent basidomycetes e.g. Puccina triticinia (wheat rast), ascomycetes e.g. Erysiphe graminio (cereal blight), phycomycetes e.g. Plaomopora viticola (vine mildew) and Phytophthora infestans (tomato mildew) and against fungi imperfacti e.g. Piricularia oryzae. They are formulated by conventional methods) opt. with other active cpds.
|
