PURPOSE:To obtain an edible oil having actions to lower cholesterol in the blood, by adding >=0.6wt% specific component separated from corn oil to >=60wt% vegetable oil. CONSTITUTION:An oil obtained from an embryo bud of corn is eluted with ethyl acetate, etc., the diluted oil is cooled to -50--70 deg.C, a coagulated component is removed, a component to be eluted with a solvent having a solubility parameter <7.5 is removed by column chromatography, and an active ingredient is obtained as a component to be eluted with a solvent, e.g., acetone, ethanol, etc. having a solubility parameter >=7.5. 0.6Wt% or more active ingredient is added to >=60wt% one or more oils selected from the group consisting of palm oil, olive oil, rice oil, and colza oil to prepare an edible oil. |
