The heat-exchange vessel for fluids and/or gases is assembled from pairs of tubular components (4) and sheet-metal pressings (6,7,16,19,34) secured together either as press-fits, tongue-and-groove joints or flanges. The sealing joints are formed by clips and a small number of screws (29,57). The components can be shaped purely by pressing, with no cutting or swarf removal and secured by folding portions of them over. Where a heavy-duty joint is required, boiler cement can be used in addition.
