PURPOSE:To avoid the burnout of a superconductive coil feasibly occurring at the time of quench by providing a quench protective control circuit including a protective resistor at the coil forming a superconductive transformer within a pumping device. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive transformer 3 having primary coil 14 and secondary coil is connected to a flux pump power source 2, one end of a superconductive coil 1 is connected to the neutral point 4 of the secondary coil, and the other end of the coil 1 is connected through permanent current switch 5 to both ends 6, 7 of the secondary coil. Heaters 8 are provided in the vicinity of the switch 5, and are controlled by a heater power source 11. On the other hand, a series circuit of a protective resistor 12 and a switch 13 is connected between both ends 15, 16 of the primalry coil 14 of the transformer 3, and a quench detection circuit 18 is provided at both ends 15, 16 and the neutral point 17. Thus, when an abnormal voltage is produced, it is detected by the circuit 18 to close the switch 13 by a quency protective control circuit 19, and the magnetic energy is consumed at the resistor 12, and the power source 2 is disconnected. |
