PURPOSE:To obtain a compact fixing device which has the stable capability of fixation and performs the superior fixation, by providing an oscillating means of oscillating a high-frequency generating means of sending a high-frequency wave to a recording material. CONSTITUTION:The axis of a sectionally rectangular waveguide 2 is set perpendicular to a recording-material carriage direction 3, and at both ends of this waveguide 2, a microwave oscillator 5 and a cooling device 6 which are parallel to each other and at right angles to the axis of the waveguide are provided. A microwave is transmitted in the waveguide in its axial direction, and in the recording-material passing surface of the waveguide 2, many slit holes 11 are made along the waveguide axis. The respective slit holes 11 are prallel to one another and the lengthwise direction of each slit hole is at right angles to the waveguide axis. Further the waveguide 2, oscillator 5 and cooling device 6 are held in one body by a supporting member 7, which is oscillated as shown by an arrow 8 through the rotation of a cam 10 fitted in an oscillatory state to an oscillation guide 9 fixed to the main frame side of a copying machine. |
