摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the reliable measurement of a thickness of a cylindrical object to be measured, by a method wherein length detectors are positioned facing and opposite to each other at a holding shaft, which can move in the axial direction of the object to be measured,through the medium of arm materials located in parallel to each other, and are brought into contact with both the inner and the outer periphery of the object to be measured. CONSTITUTION:Arms paralleling each other are securely attached to one end of a holding shaft which can move in an axial direction of an thin, long-sized cylindrical object to be measured being placed on holders. Length detectors are attached to the other ends of the arms and are brought into contact with both the inner and the outer periphery of the object to be measured, being positioned facing and opposite to each other. The holding shaft is pivotably secured by the use of a spherical bearing or inclinable bearing. For example, a holding shaft 2 is mounted by means of a spherical bearing 1 to a stand 7 which can move along a shaft 10 held in parallel to an axial direction of a thin, long-sized cylinder sample 15 placed on holders 16. Additionally, length detectors 5 are positioned facing and opposite to each other at their respective ends of arms through the medium of the arms 4 located in parallel each other, and a measurement of the thickness of the sample takes place in a manner to bring the detectors into contact with both the inner and the outer periphery of said sample.
