<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the start/stop of a magnetic tape medium as well as the control of electric conduction to a head, by controlling the stop position of the magnetic tape medium so that the gap of an erase head is always set at the center of an interblock gap (IBG). CONSTITUTION:The drive control signal is supplied to a tape drive control circuit 10 from a terminal E to drive reel motors 21 and 22 via a tape driving circuit 11. A tachometer 23 feeds the running direction of a tape to a counter 13 and a decoder 12 and at the same time feeds the distance of tape run by the pulse to the counter 13. The output of the counter 13 is decoded by the decoder 12 and fed to the circuit 10 to carry out the control so that gap of an erasing head 25 is always set at nearly the center of the IBG of a magnetic tape medium 28 in case a magnetic tape device is stopped.</p> |
