PURPOSE:To achieve a connector which is easy for alignment and economical, by forming a taper for a glass pipe through axial extension of the pipe while heating. CONSTITUTION:The center of a glass pipe 5 is extended axially while being heated to form taper, an optical fiber 1 is inserted from both ends of a connector 6 to fix the connector 6 and the optical fiber 1 with adhesive or heat. Thus, alignment can be made easy, and an economical connector with high reliability is obtained. |
