PURPOSE:To enhance clearness of an ink dot, by a method wherein a covering layer, containing water absorptive resin, is formed on a substrate to accelerate absorption of recording liquid to a recording material. CONSTITUTION:Water absorptive resin consisting of resin, in which cellulose is brought to an insoluble condition through partial bridging or denaturing of it or dextrin or cellulose is polymerized with a water-soluble monomer having an addition double coupling property, is coated on a base material surface. About 0.05-5 parts weight, based on 1 part weight absorptive resin, of a high-molecular binder, such as polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate, is applied to the absorptive resin. After the absorptive resin, the high-molecular binder, and various types of additives are mixed together with water and an organic solvent and are processed by a ball mill, sand mill, and other dispersing devices, the mixture in a solid is applied as a coating film, having a density of about 1g/m<2>-50g/m<2>, on the base material. |
