PURPOSE:To obtain, at a low cost, a picture-projection cathode-ray tube which provides a sufficiently high luminance for picture projection by using a porous honeycomb glass plate for the face plate part of the cathode-ray tube. CONSTITUTION:A face plate part 2 of a cathode-ray tube is constituted of a porous transparent columnar honeycomb reflection plate 10, and glass plates 11 and 12 that are fixed over the surfaces of the plate 10. The inner wall of the tube is provided with a fluorescent screen 5 consisting of a phosphor layer 13 and a metal back film 14. The plate 10 has many micro-fine holes 15, and the internal walls of the holes 15 are coated with light-reflecting films 16. The plate 10 with such constitution has quite the same optical function as an optical fiber plate. In addition, the plate 10 has a notably increased aperture rate since the reflection films 16 reflect the whole light, and has the property of providing an extremely high photoconductive effect since it has a rectifying effect for the direction of the projection of light. |
