PURPOSE:To detect body-cracked grains by detecting the transmission rays projected to unhulled grains with two photodetectors and comparing the quantities of the detected rays thereof. CONSTITUTION:A rice grain 17 flows in the upper part of a light projection window 6 for detection of body-cracked grains opened in a channel 4 for flowing grains. The light emitted from a light source 7 is projected to the grain 17 through a lens 16 and the window 6 having a slit, and the transmitted light thereof is made incident to photodetectors 8A, 8B through a lens 15. If there is any cracked surface in the grain 17, the light transmitted through one of the slits is scattered by this cracked surface. Therefore, a difference appears in the quantities of the rays to be made incident to the photodetectors 8A, 8B. |
