PURPOSE:To obtain a stable reproducing output having no azimuth loss, by junctioning an adjustment reproducing head, a signal reproducing head, and a means for adjusting the azimuth of the signal reproducing head by an output of the adjustment reproducing head, to the same substrate. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 41 consisting of a main magnetic pole for recording a signal, main magnetic poles 41a, 41b for recording an azimuth adjusting signal, etc. are placed so as to face to the magnetic recording layer of a vertical magnetic recording medium 40. The main magnetic poles 41a, 41b record the azimuth adjusting signal in tracks 42a, 42b placed on both the end parts of the recording medium, and also the main magnetic pole 41c records an information signal in a signal track 42c. A reproducing head 43 consists of azimuth adjusting MR elements 43a, 43b and a signal reproducing MR element 43c, which have been formed on a substrate 44, and each element is formed simultaneously on the substrate 44 by a thin film accumulating method such as spattering, vapor-deposition, etc. |
