<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a cover and a spring from producing metallic interference sound in an electromagnetic spring clutch having an armature coupled to an output hub through a coil spring by providing a resin cover for retaining the spring. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic clutch has an armature 3 which is magnetically attracted to an input pulley 1 resisting a coil spring 5 by excitation of an exciting coil 2 built in the input pulley 1. The armature 3 is coupled to an output hub through the spring 5. Rotation of the armature 3 forces the spring to clamp the hub 4, so that torque of the input pulley 1 is transmitted to the hub. In the above spring clutch, a cover 11 for accomodating the spring 5 is formed of resin, the cover 11 being provided with spaces 11c positioned peripherally at several places thereof where armature releasing magnets 8 are inserted. The magnet 8 is flipped by a spring 9.</p> |
