PURPOSE:To surely align sheets of paper in a simple construction by regulating the discharge direction of sheets discharged from discharge rollers so that the front edges of sheets can mostly reach a front plate. CONSTITUTION:A sheet fed from a main tray is copied on its one surface and enters a sheet receiving port 10 of a double-side copy tray unit after it is turned over. Then, the sheet is led by guide plates 11, 12 and is held between a pair of discharge rollers 13, 14 to be transferred obliquely upward. Then, the sheet is guided by a discharge guide plate 15 for gradually correcting its moving direction downwardly, and drops downward by impinging with its leading edge on a front plate 8 when the trailing edge of the sheet leaves the discharge rollers 13, 14. In this stage, since the upper parts of a reference side plate and a movable side plate 18 are inclined so as to be largely opened upward, the sheet to be dropped therebetween is guided by the inclined surfaces of the upper parts of the side plates for sheets, and then falls in between both side plates having a substantially same width as that of the sheet, with a slight clearance to the sheet, thereby the sheet may be aligned. |
