摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the slack of the wire without decreasing natural vibration frequency by making it possible to energize one of guide members to which the wire is hooked in a loop shape in the outward direction of the loop, and providing a wire tension detecting means. CONSTITUTION:At first a lateral feeding motor S is driven, and a carriage 3 is laterally fed along a guide 4 via the wire 6. When a printing head 1 which is mounted on the carriage 3 reaches a printing position, the printing is performed on a medium on a platen 2. When wire 6 is elongated by the repetition of said operation and the tension of the wire 6 becomes smaller than the energizing force of a spring 12, a movable pulley 5a is moved in the outward direction of the loop, a tension lever 9 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction, and said rotatin is transmitted to a potentiometer 13 through a shaft 10. When the output of the potentiometer 13 becomes lower than a specified value at which the printing quality is degraded, a signal is generated from a level detector circuit, and the slack of the wire 6 is notified.
