The machine is intended mainly for forming products from asbestos cement and materials similar to this. The machine possesses a main drive shaft (2), and auxiliary drive shafts (3, 5) which are equipped with a power drive, and a format bar (6), onto which a layer of asbestos cement is wound. The endless bands of an industrial cloth (1, 4) loop round the main drive shaft (2) and auxiliary drive shafts (3, 5), and they are in contact with the format bar (6). The power drive is designed as a system of hydraulic motors (8, 9, 10) which are connected in series to a feed line (17) and each of which is connected to one of the drive shafts (2, 3, 5), the hydraulic motor (8) of the main drive shaft (2) being connected to the feed line (17) as the first one in the direction of flow of the fluid, whilst the remaining hydraulic motors (9 and 10) are shunt-connected by means of follow-up switch valves (14) and throttles (15). The invention can be employed in machines for forming asbestos-cement sheets and asbestos-cement pipes and in paper and cardboard machines. <IMAGE>
