PURPOSE:To increase the using efficiency of a recording area, by carrying out the decision of a data area and the switching of the writing and reading gate signals through a hardware. CONSTITUTION:When a writing instruction is given to a command register 1 based on a microprogram, the gate signal is delivered to a signal line RG from a switch circuit 2 in order to read the format data FD. With this gate signal, the reading data ROD is fed to a comparator 4 to be compared with the comparing data RED. On the other hand, the number of bytes of the data ROD are counted by a counter 3. When the count value reaches a certain number, the circuit 2 is switched to the writing mode from the reading mode. Thus the writing signal is fed to a magnetic disk device via a signal line WG. At the same time, the comparator 4 decides whether the data FD is identical with a desired address or not. When the FD does not correspond to the desired address, the signal is fed to the circuit 2 to inhibit the output of the gate signal. As a result, the using efficiency is increased for a recording area. |
