7 A centrifugal pump seal includes a stationary sliding ring urged by a spring against a counter ring. The sliding ring has a filter ring housed therein radially outside of its flat sealing surface. The ring is waterproof and porous to trap grains while enabling water to pass therethrough and lubricate the sealing surface.
