IMPROVING METHOD FOR WEAR RESISTANCE FOR MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and to prevent seizure of a head due to a tape, by supplying lubricating oil on the surface of the tape at running and producing a very thin oil film between a magnetic head and the tape. CONSTITUTION:A capillary tube 3 is provided for a guide 5 axis for running a magnetic tape near a magnetic head or for the magnetic head itself, and lubricating oil 4 is supplied on the surface of a running magnetic tape 2. A thin oil film is caused between the tape 2 and the magnetic head. As a head core 1, ''Sendust ''(Fe-Si-Al) and amorphous alloy (Fe4Co72Nb2Cr4B18) are used. Through this wear resistance improving method, wear resistant and seizing problems can be solved. A metallic material having high saturation magnetic density and excellent magnetic characteristics can semipermanently guaranteed for the application of an audio head and a VTR head.
