PURPOSE:To feed an electrode at a fix point and to improve welding workability by providing an abrasion resistant guiding block of thickness smaller than the width of the electrode in the leading end part of a torch body, pressurizing and sandwiching the electrode between said block and a contact member having thickness larger than the width of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 14 is fed and just before the leading end thereof arrives at the leading end part 301 of a narrow width of a guiding block 3, a supporting member 4 is turned clockwise with a pin 5 as a fulcrum against a pressurizing means 12. If the restraining of the member 4 is released when the electrode 14 is located above the part 301, the member 4 is turned counterclockwise by the means 12, so that the electrode 14 is pressurized and sandwiched by the part 301 and a contact member 7. In this state, the electrode 14 is fed in an X1 direction through the through-hole 701 of the member 7 and electricity is fed to the member 7. While a shielding gas is blown out by a means 13 for supplying the shielding gas, welding is executed. The intervals for replacement of the member 7 owing to its abrasion are prolonged by using the means 12 in the above-mentioned way and the aiming position of the electrode 14 is kept at a fix point. |
