PURPOSE:To make mass production of display elements by providing segment electrodes and terminals on a sheet of plastic film, providing common electrodes and blanking parts on a sheet of the other plastic film, adhering the films via sealing materials and sealing liquid crystals therebetween. CONSTITUTION:Segment electrodes 12a, and terminals 16 are provided on a plastic film 11a, and the surfaces of electrodes are oriented, whereby a substrate 10a is obtained. Common electrodes 12b, blankings 14, 15 of a rectangular window shape and sealing materials 13 are provided on a plastic film 11b and the surfaces of the electrodes are oriented, whereby a substrate 10b is obtained. The films 10a, 10b are adhered together via sealing materials 13. The electrodes 12a and the electrodes 12b are opposed and cavities are formed by the materials 13. Liquid crystals are sealed in the cavities to form liquid crystal display elements. In this way, the liquid crystal display elements are produced in a large volume by using the plastic film substrates. |
