<p>A process for the preparation of substantially anhydrous hydrogen iodide, lithium iodide and/or methyl iodide by reacting under anhydrous conditions, hydrogen with iodine in a non-alcoholic solvent in the presence of a homogenous rhodium catalyst. Lithium iiodide and/or methyl iodide can be obtained by including lithium acetate and/or methyl acetate in the reaction medium.</p> |
