PURPOSE:To obviate the necessity of the motive power of accessories by allowing the sealed medium in a heat exchanging pipe to circulate naturally, with regard to a temperature controller for fuel battery through which heating is performed for accelerating reaction on starting and the heat generated during steady operation is removed. CONSTITUTION:In order to cool a fuel battery in operation, the heat generated in each layer of a layer-built fuel battery is transmitted to temperature controlling plates 1 and 3 from both the upper and lower sides according to the temperature gradient and further transmitted to a heat exchanging pipe 5, in which the sealed medium is vaporized, and the heat of evaporation is removed, and thus cooling is performed. The generated vapour rises-up and reaches a high-position pipe 7, being cooled by a heat exchanger 12 which 13 operating for heat-radiation, condensed to liquid and desceuds to a low-position pipe 9 by the self-weight, and returns to the heat exchanging pipe 5. Although a fuel battery is heated to carry-out chemical reaction smoothly on starting, the medium in the low-position pipe 8 is heated to form vapour, which rises-up and is further heated in the high-position pipe 7, and flows into the heat exchanging pipe 5 to give heat to the temperature controlling plates 1 and 3. |
