441,678. Suction cleaners. BRITISH THOMSON -HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 26, 1935, No. 26654. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1934. [Classes 8 (i) and 8 (ii)] In suction cleaners in which an electric motor creates a suction at a nozzle and in which a bag for receiving the dirt drawn through the nozzle is supported from a handle, a switch connected to the supporting means operates a signal-device when the bag contains a predetermined weight of dirt. The bag (not shown), is supported by the hook 13 from the spring-controlled bolt 15 working in guides in the casing 16 mounted in the handle 5. When a predetermined amount of dirt has collected in the bag, the contacts 20, 21 close and the lamp 22 is lit to indicate that the bag requires emptying. Should this signal be disregarded, the spring finger 41, finally mounts the knuckle 45 and contacts with the insulator 44. The current for the motor is then cut off.
