<p>Overcoats for electrophotographic elements are provided. The overcoats comprise a polymer having recurring units of the structure: in which R represents phenyl, tolyl, xylyl, or a group; R1, R5 and R6, which may be the same or different represent hydrogen or methyl; R2 represents alkyl or aryl; R3 represents carboxyl, alkyl ester, aryl ester, alkylamide or arylamide group having at least one carboxyl or hydroxyl or carboxylic anhydride substituent; R4 represents a group containing an active methylene group; a is about 29 to about 96 weight percent of said polymer; b is about 2 to about 25 weight percent of said polymer; and c is about 2 to about 46 weight percent of said polymer.</p> |
