PURPOSE:To minimize the radiation of heat and to increase the heat insulating efficiency of a press sintering furnace by forming the heat insulating wall of the furnace with a molded body of carbon wool having an airtight carbon sheet stuck to the inside. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating wall of the body 4 of a press sintering furnace in which heating is carried out in a gaseous atmosphere under >=1.5kg/cm<2> pressure is formed with a molded body 1 of carbon wool having an airtight carbon sheet 3 stuck to the inside. The carbon sheet 3 prevents heat transfer due to convection under high pressure of gas, and the outer molded body 1 of carbon wool prevents heat transfer due to conduction. As a result, the press sintering furnace has a high energy saving effect.
