发明名称 DRIVING MECHANISM FOR AIR PUMP IN INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the output loss by providing a clutch means for coupling a driving member interlocked with a drive shaft and a member to be driven interlocked with a rotor shaft of an air pump while approximately synchronizing and driving the air pump only when required. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 8 to be rotary driven by a crank shaft through a chain 10 is journaled above a cylinder head 5, and the cam shaft 8 is coupled through a clutch means 11 with a rotor shaft 13 of an air pump 12. The clutch means 11 is constructed such that a gear 15 at the end of the cam shaft 8 and a synchro hab 17 at the end of the rotor shaft 13 can be coupled disengagably through a synchro sleeve 20. A blocking ring 21 is placed between the gear 15 and the hab 17 while a synchro spring 23 is placed between the ring 21 and the hab 17. Said synchro sleeve 20 will slide by an operating means 24 through a shift pin 35 to be engaged with a guide groove 19 at the outercircumference.
