PURPOSE:To obtain constant picture quality regardless of stopping time by fatiguing a photosensitive material and a developer prior to the starting of copying when a copying machine is stopped for a long time. CONSTITUTION:The time when a fixing device reaches prescribed temperature after a main switch is turned on is measured. When the measured time does not exceed the set time T1 of an incorporated timer, it is judged that the copying machine is not stopped for a long period, and the copying operation is started immediately. When the measured time exceeds the T1, it is judged that the machine is stopped for a long time, and the photosensitive material on a photosensitive drum D is fatigued optically through an exposing lamp 1, discharging lamp 2, and pre-fatiguing lamp 3 and then given electrolytic fatigue by a charger 6, preliminary transfer device 7, transfer discharger 8, separate discharger 9, and preliminary charger 10. Further, a developing roller 5 is rotated to allow toner to recover from discharging. |
