PURPOSE:To produce T-steel or angle steel having good product accuracy with high productivity by finish rolling H-shaped steel or channel steel with universal mills and cutting the web thereof in the longitudinal direction of the shape steel with cutting edges provided to horizontal rolls simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The blank material heated in a heating furnace 11 is rolled to the beam blank of H-shaped steel or channel steel with roughing mills 12 provided with caliber rolls. The beam blank is roughly rolled plural times with a reversible universal mill group 13 consisting of universal mills 14, 16, and edging mills 15, whereby H-shaped steel or channel steel 1 is obtained. Said steel is finish-rolled with a finishing universal mill group 17 of a unidirectional pass constituted of universal mills 18, edging mills 19, and finishing universal mills 20, at the same time, the web of the shape steel 1 is cut successively with the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd cutting edges 22, 23, 26 provided over the entire circumference in the body parts of horizontal rolls 21, 19, 25, in the longitudinal direction, whereby T-steel or angle steel 2 is obtained. |
