PURPOSE:To prevent gas cut off action due to a temporary change of gas, in a device whereby a ball valve is lifted and forcibly contacted to a valve seat to stop abnormal emission of gas, by providing split ring units partly to a valve box housing the ball valve to give a delay time to said lift of the valve. CONSTITUTION:This safety device is used by communicating the bottom end part of its outer shell 1 to a gas supply source and the upper end part to a gas receiving source of gas appliances or the like. Under a normal condition, a ball valve 4 is placed in a stationary state on a supporting pin 5, and gas is fed to the gas receiving side via a through hole 6 and a gap 7. While, if a gas pipe is disarranged to abnormally emit live gas to the gas receiving side, the valve 4 is lifted by a flow of surplus amount of gas and forcibly contacted to a valve seat 3 to cut off its emission. Here the valve 4 is lifted while colliding against folded parts 9a, 9b of split ring units 8a, 8b provided at a distance to the internal face of a valve box 2, and a slight length of delay time is taken at valve closing. |
