<p>PURPOSE:To modify a maximum supercharged pressure in accordance with fuel and atmosphere conditions by varying the set load of a diaphragm spring inside the actuator of a waist gate valve. CONSTITUTION:At a high altitude location where the atmospheric pressure is low, a signal from a detective means such as an atmospheric pressure sensor is sent to a controller 15. The controller 15 changes over a three-way valve 14 to communicate a pipe passage 13 with a supply port 12 for feeding oil into a bellows 11. The communication between the pipe passage 13 and the supply port 12 is maintained for a period required for stretching the bellows as long as a supercharged pressure reaches its maximum optimum level matching the atmospheric pressure. After the above duration of the communication, the three- way valve 14 is changed over by the controller 15 to keep the oil pressure in the bellows 11. If the maximum supercharged pressure must be increased due to some charge of octane number of fuel or similar reason, an operator manually changes over a fuel change-over switch. A change-over signal is then generated to actuate the three-way valve 14.</p> |
