PURPOSE:To prevent twist of the leading part of a welding wire by feeding a wire from a point on the extension line of the axis of spool at a standstill while giving a turn of twisting for each turn of winding round the spool and by drawing out the wire while twisting back toward the extension line of the spool axis. CONSTITUTION:When a welding wire 1 is wound up, a turn of twisting is given for each turn of winding round a spool 6 so that no plastic deformation is produced owing to twist of wire. When the wire is drawn out on the other hand, the wire 1 is drawn in the axial direction of the spool 6 while it is at a standstill, so that the twist is recovered without causing twist at the leading part of the wire. Thus good welding bead can be obtained without requiring any particular device or mechanism to control inertia force of the spool. |
