PURPOSE:To realize various modes of utilizing transportation appliances equipped with the captioned wheel device by forming its wheel frame with a turning frame and a swinging frame, which swings by means of a brake mechanism, and making said wheel frame and swinging frame fixable and floatable independently. CONSTITUTION:A wheel frame 3 fitted to the under surfaxe of a basic body 1 of a transportation appliance is composed of a turning frame 4 supported by means of a main shaft 2 and a swinging frame 5 which is supported by means of a turning frame 4 and can longitudinally swing with a support shaft 10 as a fulcrum. A wheel 12 is supported by means of an axle 11 in the lower part of a side part 9 of the swinging frame 5, and both ends of the axle 11 are engaged with an oblong regular hole 13 bored in the lower part of a side part 7 for the turning frame 4. A stopper mechanism 14, including a stopper pin 17 engaged with or disengaged from a notch part 25 provided in a connection part 8 of the swinging frame 5, is provided on the under surface of the basic body 1, while the swinging frame 5 is provided with a brake mechanism 26 which brakes reverse turning of the wheel 12. Said mechanism 26 is so made as to be capable of fixing the swinging frame 5 separately from the wheel 12 under the operating condition of a regulatior mechanism 31. |
