PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the color purity of a picture such as color shift and color uniformity by a heat absorption surface area at the central section of the main surface of a shadow mask using the heat oxidation treatment and a heat reflection surface area at the peripheral section using the metal flame spraying. CONSTITUTION:The entire phosphor screen 4 on the inner surface of a panel 1 is covered with a reflection overlapped layer 10 such as Al and an infrared absorption layer 11 made of carbon particles whose horizontal length is the same as the screen effective length is applied to the central part of this overlapped layer 10. In addition, the entire surface of a mask 5 in which slit holes are arranged in the vertical direction is blackened using the oxidation treatment. On the other hand, infrared reflection layers 13 made of an Al deposition coat whose length is the same as the horizontal effective length of a screen are applied to the horizontal upper and lower sides on the surface of the screen 4 side of the mask 5. As a result, beam landing shift can fully be reduced and the deterioration of the color purity of a picture such as color shift and color uniformity can be prevented. |
