<p>This invention relates to a device for detecting the tape end of a magnetic recording apparatus in a sure and reliable fashion, which thereby permits the tape to be automatically stopped. The device uses a phototransistor incorporated into a positioning pole in the cassette and a lightemitting diode opposing this phototransistor. The two elements cooperate to detect the lead tape connected to the tape to ensure detection. An additional advantage is that the phototransistor is incorporated and requires no extra space for installation. The device is accordingly easily incorporated into existing magnetic recorders such as video tape recorders.</p> |
