PURPOSE:To obtain parts of uniform quality for a timepiece in few stages, by plating a strip of precipitation hardening type stainless steel, BeCu or the like with Ni or Au, coiling it, simultaneously carrying out age hardening and diffusion treatment, and working the coil to the desired shapes of the parts. CONSTITUTION:A strip of precipitation hardening type stainless steel, BeCu or the like having <=0.3mm. thickness is plated with Ni or Au. The plated strip is coiled, the age hardening of the coil and the diffusion treatment of the Ni or Au plating are simultaneously carried out in vacuum, and the coil is press worked to obtain parts for a timepiece. Inexpensive parts of stable quality for a timepiece are obtd. with high mass productivity by providing a prehardened material (a diffusion treated material) with superior bendability and adhesive strength to plating. |
