METHOD FOR MEASURING TUBE EXPANSION RATE OF BOILER, HEAT EXCHANGER OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To perform easy and accurate measurements by allowing one of two ultrasonic probe to contact with the inner part of a tube and the other to contact with the expander-worked part of a tube end, and calculating a tube expansion rate from respective measured values. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic thickness gauge 1 is provided with an electronic computer 2 and a printer 3. The probes A and B are inserted into a tube after expansion work and allowed to contact with its internal wall surface. The probe A is allowed to contact with the inner part where the tube is not expanded and the probe B is allowed to contact with the expanded part respectively. A measurement signal push button 5 is pressed when a numeral to be led out as a signal obtained at each measurement point and the measured value is inputted to the electronic computer 2. Measured values of every tube are processed by the electronic computer 2 and printed out on the printer 3.
